Depends what upgrades you want on it. The factions end game green prot focus is pretty nice.

Theres a guy in Kodonur Crossroads in Nightfall I think, who crafts a Protection focus for 5k + some mats, it's inscribable and all, I bought one.

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hadusi here is the link to it, hope it helps.

Well for a staff you dont need a focus to go with it, as its two handed.

For a second set though the end game items are pretty nice for a general all rounder.

well, i normally go for +30hp , 20% recharge.

The faction green fit it very well.

If you want go for the gold road remember you have to buy a "forget me not"for about 20k~

Get a 20/20 focus since HCT/HSR is the best (pretty much a need in PvP).

You can make your own or find one on a collector I'm sure.

While I'm all for banter and question/answer for the sake of conversation, the above mentioned wiki can help you locate pretty much anything in the game that isn't a random drop - ie collector stuff, greens, etc. Check it out... the info there really is invaluable.

only for healing. prot focus like that isnt needed and generally a waste of money due to the fact of youre going to want a 40 fc/ 20 recharge/ 20 enchants staff.

why would you need a prot focus? You want to have enchanting 20% spear+ focus combo only if you're not opting for a staff (which you seem to have already).

I generally use 20% enchanting staff since I'm lazy in PvE and don't want to weapon swap to wand things...

I love how people say 20% spear....like having a spear is any different from having a sword or axe with 20%. You're not going to be doing damage either way.

Staff ftw. 20/20 +30 +15 energy is good all around.

Spear is extremely better than a sword, for ex.

Pressing tab with a sword attached draws you into that persons melee range (you are weilding a sword you know)

But as with a spear the range is greatly increased.

Farther from enemy = farther from danger?

Unless you're retarded, you won't be running up into enemies either way. However, a spear is useful for the rare occasion in today's meta where you could wand traps without, you know, being in a wand/staff set. The only time I can think of that you would have a spear/sword/axe without being in your +60hp set (because why would you be wanding traps when you're in need of +60hp?) is if you're playing a healer's boon in which a prot staff isn't really necessary.

double HCT enchanting staff is probably the only prot set you'll ever really need.
